Urban Peace Institute partners with Los Angeles County Office of Diversion and Re-entry, Division of Youth Diversion and Development (YDD) to coordinate trainings for community-based providers who work with vulnerable youth. The most recent trainings were led by experts in their field, including Skipp Townsend, Founder and Executive Director of 2nd Call, and Johnny Torres, a Gang Intervention Worker. They taught providers about restorative and transformative justice, identifying and addressing legal issues, understanding the roles of various public defender offices and the District Attorney, and working with gang impacted youth.
