The Watts Walking Club Wears Orange

In a call to end gun violence nationwide, Urban Peace Institute joined the Watts Walking Club to #WearOrange with Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety. Over twenty community members joined the route to the Watts Towers to show their support. Community leaders spoke on the need to end gun violence in all communities and held photos in honor of the lives lost in Uvalde. Several volunteers from Moms Demand Action were present to stand with the walking club and Urban Peace Institute in our call for gun safety. Enough is enough—we can end gun violence. We are done with thoughts and prayers, it’s time for community-level investment and policy change to save lives.
