UPI Hosts Department of Justice

Urban Peace Institute was grateful to host Amy L. Solomon, Assistant Attorney General of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP); Eddie Bocanegra, Senior Advisor; and additional OJP staff for site visits to South LA neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The group visited with peacemakers from Chapter T.W.O. and Resilient Agency to learn more about the effectiveness and impact of community violence intervention strategies and discuss opportunities for expansion in the field.

Thank you to the Department of Justice for the investment in these two frontline agencies. It is crucial the we #fundpeacemakers at every level of government! A major shoutout to the community intervention workers for engaging in these fruitful discussions and going above and beyond to keep Los Angeles safe.
