The Urban Peace Academy Is in Session!

The Urban Peace Academy launched the second session this year to train and support peacemakers in the Los Angeles region. The Academy is a distinctive practitioner-led training that professionally certifies community intervention workers to address violence on the frontlines. Throughout the 80-hour certification course, participants are trained by experts in the field on topics such as License to Operate, Mediation & Conflict Resolution, Professional Standards, Changing Street Dynamics, and more. 

As the first in the nation, the Urban Peace Academy is a leader in professionalizing the field of community violence intervention and training peacemakers. Much of its success is due to UPI's Academy Management Team and the expert practitioners paving the way to safety in Los Angeles and across the nation.
